No envelope icon in task tray

Using Outlook 2003, Win XP, I checked the correct box (in the advanced email
options) to have the icon show in the task tray when I've received email.
However, even after rebooting it doesn't doesn't show up. (All of my other
options work fine.) Is there a step that I've missed?

Windows XP may be hiding it. Right-click the Taskbar, cloose Properties,
and click Customize. Locate the "You have new unopened items" item and
change the behavior to "Always show". Click OK, then OK.
