I am working on setting up a child domain on a single
Windows 2000 Advanced Server domain controller. I
installed Win2K as a Stand-Alone server to get all
hardware dirvers taken care of before dealing with Active
Directory. I ran dcpromo.exe to promote the server to a
Domain Controller and there is no Enterprise Admins group
showing up in the Active Directory Users and Computers
snap-in. I have demoted and re-promoted the server hoping
that I might have missed something in the dcpromo.exe
option screens, but I didn't see anything and the group
still isn't there. Is this some kind of common issue? I
haven't been able to find any reference to it in the
Knowledge Base, although I found an article (320054) that
specifically lists that group as one of the "predefined
groups that are put in the Users folder for Active
Directory Users and Computers."
Do I have to do something specific to get this group to
appear? Am I just being an idiot and missing something
obvious here?
Thanks.
