Following a complete client re-installation I can no longer send url links
by email.
Under Internet Options; Programs there are no associated programs for
E-Mail. Microsoft Outlook correctly occupies the other relevant options.
Outlook 2002 is running as an Exchange client.
Any thoughts anyone?
Regards
Chris Curtis

To set Outlook 98, 2000 or 2002(XP) as the default mail client,- Go to
Start, Run - Type in the following with quotation marks and press ok
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
For more information on Outlook see:

Outlook and Outlook Express are different programs. I suggest that you ask
in an Outlook newsgroup:

Hi Chris,
I have the same trouble with my email selection in
Internet Options - Programs. It won't let me enter my
email program. I'm running Windows 2K with Outlook
Express.

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/defaultl.htm

Go to Start | Run and type this command, with the double quotes and spaces:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg

and then make sure that OE is selected as the default mail program in both
IE and OE.

If that isn't enough, see this article:
"Send To" and E-mail Links Do Not Work Using Outlook Express as Default:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306098

You might also want to try this:

Thanks Frank!
I'll have a look at those suggestions tomorrow in the office.
It's never happened before on any of the clients.

I'll post back if (when; let's be positive!) I find an answer

Through the slipstick link I realised I was missing relevant mailto entries
in the registry.
Used the Outlook repair facility which restored (installed) them!
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction Frank
