No DVI

I have a geforce FX5700 Ultra and just installed Windows Vista. I also
installed the NVidia beta driver for Vista. First off when I select the
diplay in user preferences Vista tells me that "The currently selected
graphics driver can not be used. It was writted for a previous version of
windows. The syatem has been started using the default VGA driver" Yet I
still have all my resolution choices so I am not sure what is going on there.
Also, I have been unsuccessful in getting my DVI output to work. I have
drivers installed for it and windows does see it in my hardware profile. It
shoes up as a monitor option in the windows display settings but I can not
make any adjustments for it. It says 1x1 pixels. I have tried the control
panel that came with the new driver but there are no specific monitors listed
and any changes I make to the monitors does nothing. I realize that
everything is still in beta but I was hoping for some sort of solution.

Thank you very much

Did you uninstall old drivers first? try again. My 5200 DVI works fine.
Make sur dvi cable is used.

Driver Installation Hints

"Download Accelerator" utilities should be disabled when downloading any
drivers.

Do not run virus protection software in the background while installing the
drivers. This prevents the driver from configuring itself properly.

Before installing new drivers make sure you uninstall all NVIDIA display
drivers from the Windows Control Panel. Browse to the Start Menu > Windows
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and search for "NVIDIA Windows Display
Drivers" or "NVIDIA Display Drivers" and select remove.

There is only the Beta driver on my PC. I formated the drive before I
installed Vista. I have a DVI cable and do nothave an accelerator running.
I also have not installed any virus protection yet.

Same here.
I use a test computer.
(I tried Ubuntu too :-))
No DVI what so ever.
Even with XP on the same computer.
The same monitor on my main computer did DVI....
Monitor is a simple TFT Medion 19".
The only thing I see is "No signal"
