I just built a new machine. High tech everything... All is cool except for
the fact that I don't get Audio when I play a DVD. Audio works otherwise...
All the sounds one would expect. But nothing from a DVD.

I tried playing with the digital audio settings for each of the DVD drives,
but no luck. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I believe I have the same problem. I have a Dell Inspiron 6000 with Media
Center as my OS. Not even a week old. At first I was playing DVDs fine.
Then the video was choppy. I uninstalled "Power DVD." (Another player that
came with my laptop) Now the video is fine, but I have no audio at all.
Headphones do not work either. I can play CDs without a problem and I hear
all other audio. Just nothing when I try to play a DVD. Any help would be
GREATLY appreciated. Brand new and I'm already having problems: not very
happy. ;)

Sound never worked for DVD. It's a brand new box - home built.

I found my older DVD recorder CD and installed the player from that disc and
that seems to work. So it will play properly with the older Roxio DVDMax
player, but not with Windows Media or the Nero player...

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Jerry
