I've recently upgraded to Win2000Pro (no service pack
installed yet). I now find out that there is no driver for
my Xerox Docuprint P8 for Win2000Pro. What options do I
have if I want to use my printer with Win2000Pro? How
would I override to install it in Win2000Pro if I decide
to do it anyhow? Thanks for your help.

Do you mean that there's none included with W2K, or that
Xerox doesn't have one? If the former, go to Xerox's
website, and hunt around. If the latter, you could ask
Xerox about a work-alike driver, which (if it exists) will
however not give you all the capabilities. Sometimes, the
W98 driver will work, but I've noticed hit-n-miss success
going that route -- Xerox should be able to advise you on
that, too.

If nothing else works, buy a cheap used PC, set it up as a
printer server, and network your main machine to it (for
this purpose peer-to-peer should work, but don't take my
word for it.) It doesn't have to be fast - a PIII or even
a PII CPU will be plenty powerful enough.
