I'm guessing that by "full screen" you mean not what Word calls Full Screen
but what Windows calls a "Maximized" window. And I'm going to extrapolate
from that that you're not seeing the Word window at all? Usually this means
it has opened in a Normal window offscreen. Right-click on the Taskbar
button for the document. If the available commands include Maximize and
Minimize but not Restore, then that's the problem. Open any other window,
then right-click on an unused area of the Taskbar and choose Cascade. This
should bring the Word window back in view. Move and size it to your
preference, then quit Word. When you restart, the window should be where you
left it.
