no disconnect icon

After going online, there is no icon in the taskbar that I can use to
disconnect. Any suggestion?

A dialup connection should show an icon in the system tray.
Right clicking on this icon should offer a disconnect (or similar) option.

Not an elegant solution, but you could put an icon for your connection on your desktop. If you would right click on it, you will have an option to disconnect.
