I have used all versions of Windows since 3.1. Using WinXP
Pro, I do not get the BootUP Diagnostics Screen, the
computer goes straight into the Windows Logo. How do I
return this usefull function?

Dell 8200
WinXP Pro
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Bios A09
Samsung 17" monitor
80Gig WD HD

Thanks,
Arty

Hello Arthur,

Open the boot.ini and increase the timeout to 30 seconds.

[boot loader]
timeout=30

Hi,

Hit the <escape> key to get rid of the manfacturer logo, then enter the
system bios (what key you use to do this should be on the screen). Look on
the boot options for something to enable/disable boot time diagnostics.

Showing the post screen is not a function of Windows. As you know Windows
cannot begin to load until it has passed the BIOS test. Some BIOSes have a
Quick Start or Rapid Boot and some enable you to turn a manufacturer logo on
and off. Consult your motherboard manual to learn how to change these
settings.
