All my computers work fine with DHCP, except one. I have
tried 4 different network cards, all same problem. If I
give it a static IP it works fine... It just can't see
the DHCP server.
Machine is running Windows XP, any ideas?
Make sure that the DHCP Client service is running:
1. Right click My Computer, and click Manage.
2. Double click Services and Applications.
3. Double click Services.
4. Double click DHCP Client. If the Service status is Stopped, click
Start.
5. Set the Startup type to Automatic.
Are there any relevant messages in Event Viewer? To run it, click
Start | Control Panel | Performance and Maintenance | Administrative
Tools | Event Viewer. For more information, see:
