In the past two weeks I have had two workstation at our school get a virus or
a spyware that causes the desktop to have no icons or start menu. This is
also true if you boot into safe mode. I have tried the following and each
time my I wind up reloading windows but I will list the steps in hope someone
else has found the solution.
1. I have run both spyware checks and Antivirus checks which do find some
things but none resolve the issue.
2. Restore to a different time. Does not resolve the problem.
3. Run Windows Repair. Does not resolve the problem.
4. Remove the drive and scan with another system. Does not resolve the
problem.
5. I have tried using the links that the other users have tried Kelly’s' for
one.
None of the steps aside from wiping and reloading have worked. I would like
to find the fast resolution to this issue. I think they are coming in by way
of ecards. I have run across the screen saver blue screen but this one is
different. Any good suggestions would be great.
