I have recently installed ie 6 sp-1, and my system would
freeze after re-booting. There was an error loading the
comctl32.dll, so I had to re-install Windows 98. Now my
system comes up, and everything works, except ie will not
let me put my cursor any where on any web page! I can't
type anything in my browser. I tried to un-install ie, but
there is no option to do that, and re-installing it did no
good, the setup stated that it was already installed.
Tried to repair ie too, but received an error message that
it could not be repaired. This really sucks!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried updating your mouse drivers?

(Although I don't expect the result to be different, you could try an
IE repair via RUN msinfo32. There's a list at the top with various
options.)

Please elaborate on that message. (Transcribe it as accurately
as you can.) In addition you may be able to find some of the
equivalent text in the Fix IE Log.txt which would have been created.
