Hi
My cd rom does not show up in my computer but the device is listed
in device manager and is working normal according to device manager.
It also does not show up windows explore.
Any idea what I can do to fix the problem

Hi,

See if this helps

http://aumha.org/win5/a/xpcd.htm, under section 8 - Problems - there is a
link to a patch that often resolves this problem

Hi,

Click start/ and right click on my computer/manage/disk
management and click it. See if your cd is there and
right click it, click change drive letter and path to see
the current drive letter assignment. You can change it if
needed here to see if that might force it to show up
after rebooting. Also in the bios make sure the cd roms
secondary IDE channel is set to AUTO detect for both
connected devices.
