OK I'm not trying to do anything illegal so please don't flame me.

I have the original cd for all the games I have, and I just bought a new 120
gig drive and would like to install the games that need the cd in the drive
without having to change cd's whenever I change games.

Is there a way to do this or do I always have to put in my original cd?

Thanks for your info
Colin

Yes, there is a way to do this,
www.virtualcd-online.com

what this does is allow you to create a virtual CD (copy your CDs to your
HDD) and allows you to use a virtual CD-ROM, thus never having to place your
physical CDs in the drive. (this is as easy as right clicking on the VCD
drive, and going to insert VCD, then selecting your VCD) This program works
really well. However, some of the modern games won't work with out the
proper VCD settings (trial and error).

The down side to this, it takes up about 20-50meg more then the actual CD,
so if your not interested in saving space, then this is one way to go. I use
this program not only to avoid needing the physical CDs handy, But it also
serves as a backup of the original. CD, which I have tucked away in there
orgnial. product boxes (waste of storage space I know..)

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the info, look interesting.
