no broadband :/

hi there, i own xp but not b/b, so the downloads for
updates are almost inpossible unless i leave my pc
running for days on end,

Do ms make a disc they can send me so i can update, then
ill be able to keep up to date as i wint have to d/l over
35 meg of stuff.

help appreciated

Most computer stores such as best buy will do your
updates for you for 19.95--- Otherwise it's wait or get
broadband

Yes and no is the answer Dan.

The yes part is that I purchased a CD title Windows XP Service
Pack 1 for about $10. This was direct from Microsoft. It was
released about August 2002 (I am not sure of the date) and it
included all of those updates through that date.

They have not released Service Pack 2 and I have no idea when
they will.

I should think that any purchase recently made would have most of
those updates included and even some of those which have been
released in late 2002.

You may want to send an email to MS support to find out how to
order the CD Service Pack 1.

And note, Service Pack 1 only contains all the updates from the release of
XP up to the release of SP1. Any later updates would still need to be
downloaded.

Service Pack 2 is not due out until late 2004.
