No BIOS Post Beep

Hi - My computer refuses to beep at Start Up.
(No BIOS BEEP-post). It then proceeds normally to logon.

Entering BIOS Setup and exiting WITHOUT any
alterations, will produce the post-beep.
After that, back to square-one!

Any possible explanation?

My System Pentium3
Windows XP Pro (SP1)

Thanks

Hi,

Is it actually refusing to boot? Or just not making a beep? Some system
simply don't do that. Some only beep after a change, some beep on every
post. If it's booting fine, I wouldn't be concerned. Have you flashed the
bios recently? There may have been a change introduced.

Thanks for the Info Rick: yes pc boots fine:
just wondering why since it never happened before.
I have never flashed the BIOS (about 3 years installed
now); to be quite honest, I don' know how to go about it -
but am willing to give it a try.

Why do you want that annoying Beep anyway??

Well, it's kind of reassuring! Been hearing it for
years... and now it has gone dumb. Apart from that
everything's humming along fine...
