I had similar problem with my A8N-SLI board. I installed it and all
seemed to work fine, couple of times it just shut down and I was able
to restart it. After I got my RAID configured and partitioned, I
inserted my Windows XP cd into drive, restarted machine and got
same problem as yours. Power light came on, HD light was on as well as
cd rom lights. All fans were running, no beeps, no video. I took my
board and CPU back to the shop where I purchased and was determined
that my motherboard was defective. I installed my replacement on
Tuesday evening and its been running fine. Only weird problem I have
is with shutdown with XP-SR2....does all its stuff to shut down, but
does not power off...I have to manually turn off switch. When I
restart machine, there is no problem, so windows is not terminated
prematurely....weird stuff.

I had a similar problem with a P5AD2. Fans run, power light on, MB LED on.
but no post. I removed the CPU, and reinstalled it. Booted fine, has been
running perfectly for past month.
I just unlatched the clamp, lifted the cpu, and set it back in the socket
and re latched it. Guess it didn't like the first CPU install, what can you
say??
