As instructed, I checked the device manager for any
yellow or red marks on audio files, but there were none
and each file reported "working properly". I rechecked
all sound files via "Troubleshoot Wizard" and found no
problems--all sounds checked out. My Windows Media
Player works fine (beautiful sound), and as before, I
rechecked the FAQ's and Knowledge Base in case I missed
an article on problem. I also made certain (one more
time)that "mute" button was not on.
The only thing I haven't done is uninstall and reinstall
my sound files mostly because all my other sounds appear
to be fine, just the basics (see subject) don't work.
Besides, I have no idea what sound files to uninstall nor
where I find them to reinstall. Could there be a shutoff
command somewhere that may have gotten checked or
something? More help, please. Thanks. Joy Higgins
