no background

when in administrative account i have no
backgroung....but i do i guest account..also a lot of my
programs will not run in administrative account but run
fine in guest...
 
Hope this isn't "the" Administrator account, John. If it is one you
created, there may be some corruption in the account. You can look in
Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer and clip the Application
listing in the left pane, then look for error messages in the right pane.
Those can be right-click/properties to view the error and see what's causing
the problem.

Have you checked your system with your anti-virus lately?
