no auto clock updates

where is the setting to turn off the automatic updating of the system
time from the internet in TD?

Try to set
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters],
"time" registry string value to "NoSync" (by default it is set to "NTP").

You may change this value in TD for W32Time service related component (don't
remember which one but you may search for component that contains
w32time.dll).

sorry but i have no idea on how to search for a component that
includes a file, how do you do this?

You need to read doc on TD Filtering capabilities.

You will find component: Time Service Core.

Type value is not in this component so you will need probably to add it
manually.
