no audio

I have no audio. i have an un identified (other device) with a problem, no driver. under device manager its called a multimedia audio controller. and hovering over it in bright yellow is a big (?). how can i find a driver for an unidentified device? i have exausted every means i know of on my computer. i also have a code (28). wich says that hardware driver is missing,. HELP

Go to:-

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

and download "Belarc Advisor" and install it.

When is it run it gives you a browser page full of info about your
system. It will list your devices.

Alternatively, go to Start > Run and type msinfo32
It should provide you with information about your hardware, then you
will know which driver you need, go to the manufacturer's webpage and
download that driver.

Have you downloaded and installed the WinXP-specific audio drivers
as provided by the audio controller's manufacturer?
