I have Windows XP Professional installed for almost a year
with all the devices working fine. Now I have had problem
with the audio. There is no audio output from my PC and
whenever I try playing music (WAV, MP3) an error message
comes up : NO sound device installed or your sound device
is being used by another program.
Any help to fix this problem will be appreciated.

Much appreciated,
Dipak

What other programs do you have running ? Something that is causing this
message. Ctrl/Alt/Del will bring up the task manager, what does it say ? Is
your soundcard recognised ?

You can either persue this further or do a system restore. Perhaps you isome
sounbdware that has f**ked things up ?

Cheers,
Jerry

Could be some kind of conflict. Check the status of your
sound device in control panel > system > hardware >
device manager.

Reinstalling your soundcard drivers, whilst heavy handed,
has a good chance of solving this.
