I uploaded my video's from my Sony DCR-DVD403 to MY Video folder, then put
them in the Movie Maker Collection folder. When I put a clip on the story
board and play it there is no audio, yet when i play the clip in Windows
Media Player the audio play's just fine. Am I missing something in Movie
Maker?

Thanks PapaJohn, I'll try eliminating filters, and that makes sense as there
were a lot of filters enabled when i was trying to figure out why I lost the
audio. I'll let you know how it works out.

Well, that didn't work. Also, my clips have no audio at all now. I had
cyberlink and Power DVD installed, so I uninstalled it thinking it was
causing a conflict, but now there is no audio when i play an unedited clip in
WMP10. I'm going to re-install the Cyberlink programs and see if that brings
back the audio

I'm guessing you are referring to the post under- Selected Posts by others,

i'm reading your newsletter #50. My main problem is importing the MPEG2 file
that is on my hard drive to MM2 and being able to hear the audio when i
preview the clips, and from what I'm reading I'll need to convert the files
to AVI/DV-AVI. I'll read it and see if I can figure it out tonight. I gotta
commend you on your web site, it's a fountain of knowledge, and I really
appreciate the help, thanks again...

Do you know anything about Sony Vegas Movie Studio? I was thinking that may
be a better way to go since it should work with the Sony HandyCam

did you ever resolve this problem? I am having the same problem with my Sony
Movie Shaker program. It plays the audio while capturing, but then there is
no sound once I play it back to edit. Can you help? thanks so much!

Hey Tia, sort of. I downloaded a program called AVSAudioTools and it has a
converter to make that videos AVI. It is a demo and puts a watermark when you
use it but only in the demo. If you buy the program you don't have the
watermark. I haven't had a chance to try the converted video in Movie Maker
yet, but i did get the audio back when i play the movie in Media Player so
i'm guessing it will work in MM. It's a very easy program, look at the other
stuff in the web site there are other programs that may interest you, hope
this helps...
