After suffering the "blue screen of death", Windows XP pro did not "Repair"
the existing OS, rather re-installed itself (I chose a secondary directory).
After many problems, at least one which plagues me exists.
NO AUDIO output
All devices test OK, and no faults in device manager, and even after
updating any associated files, still no audio output. (yes the speakers work).
I have undergone other "blue screens" in the past, but was always able to
locate the problem.

No Midi, No CD, No Windows default sounds, in short, NOTHING

I am running Realtek AC97 for my audio system, which has never caused any
problems before.
Has anyone a CLUE???

Thanks;

Although very rare, I found that the back panel connector to the motherboard,
had a bad solder connection to the line output pin, which had cracked and
only under a magnifying glass did it reveal a broken connection. I had the
equipment to resolve it and now all works well.
