I have a Sony digital camcorder model DCR-TRV350. I am connecting to my
computer with USB. When I capture the video, the picture is fine (except for
occassional choppy capture), but I can't get sound. I see the wave when I
copy the clip to the audio on the storyline, but no sound. Properties shows
an audio file present. It is capturing with a .WMV extension. How can I get
the sound from the video to play?

This happens regularly because of capturing with USB. This is why it is
recommended that you use firewire which should also help with your choppy
capture problem.

I am not sure if my cam or computer has firewire. The only hookup port on the
camera are s-video, audio/video connection(one plug in going to three wire
hookup for tv<yellow-white-red>, a dv port, and the usb. Is the DV port the
same as firewire. Sony calls it a i.LINK. What about my computer. Dell
Demension 4500.
