somebody help me with this problem???

Hi,
I had a similar problem with the onboard SigmaTel sound on my Dell desktop,
you will need to find out which sound card you have and manually find the
drivers for vista.

if there are no vista drivers available, you may be able to use XP drivers....

how can i find wich sound card do i have?

You could open the owner's manual and see if it
gives any technical specifications there. If
not in the owner's manual, next you could try
typing www.hp.com and see what information is
available on the HP web site.

Or, you could just whine and ask "how can i find
wich sound card do i have?"

Use a little initiative! Put those little gray
cells that prevent your skull from collapsing to
work. It really doesn't hurt when you utilize
those little gray cells and try to figure things
out!

I found out the way to solve this out, there is a special forum for hp with
this problem

"Now that I have this figured out, my post count is going to increase
rapidly considering the pure number of topics regarding the Conexant audio.

Anyways, for Windows Vista x64 with Conexant/ATI Integrated Digital
Audio/SB400 (you get the idea)...

1. Download the attached Audio64a.zip and install the driver using device
manager. Since this is a beta OS, I'll assume anyone having this problem will
know how to do that.

2. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete and open Task Manager.
If you already disabled User Account Control, then go to File->Run and run
cmd. Go to step 3.
If UAC is enabled or you don't know what UAC is, go to the "Processes" tab.
If there's a button that says "Show processes from all users", click it and
go through the popup window, then go to File->Run and run cmd.

3. At the command prompt, enter Bcdedit.exe –set nointegritychecks ON.

4. Reboot your computer. The sound will now work.

This whole issue is because in x64 Vista, any kernel-mode driver (audio
being one) must be signed to load (hence the "Driver cannot be loaded"
error). The bcdedit command disables that requirement, allowing you to load
the unsigned driver.

When I installed Vista on my HP laptop, I just used the realtec x64 drivers,
and I got sound.

You just have to manually install them

HP DV5000 and x64 Vista.

I have a Compaq 5210 laptop and used the following support pack (64-bit XP
realtek AC97) SP30305.EXE from the HP Support site. Vista 64 had no problems
with drivers and my sound now works.

You already answered yourself in your other post Conexant AC-Link Audio
Try Google to see if you can find any information useful for your situation

Try the HP Website, search your model number and you may find the correct
drivers there, alternatively look at the specification and try to google the
manufacturers website.

I had this problem too. I don't know if you are using 64bit or x86, but I
installed a clean version of x86 (despite the fact I have an AMD64). Anyway,
I fixed the problem by uninstalling Vista and reloading XP. Then, instead of
a clean Vista install, I did an upgrade to Vista. Now I have sound, but the
driver for the CPU is funky. Windows sees my chip is 944MB instead of 2GB.
The display flickers at times too, but it all works. YEAH!!!

Overall I am quite pleased with the shape this OS is in for a beta. It's
been worth the wait.
