i was using inside function like left(control_name) etc.
now i am using it on a french version the function are unknown by access cause of the difference of language....
How could i handle with that??

I do not believe that the function names are changed from country to
country.

it would kind of make development impossible...would it not?

In Access 2000 in spanish I have to write the criteria in spanish, for
example: "Como" (As) "Cuenta" Count, etc.
The criteria in queries uses different languages.

Is this realy valid for SQL?

I could agree with you about expressions created by the expressionsbuilder,
because if I use the expressionbuilder it will create the expression in
swedish. But if I type SQL it´s in English. And if I would like to use a
parameter expression in a Q it works with both swedish and english, so I
therfor prefere english!

I am not very familiar with SQL, I only use the expression builder. I
believe yohann does the same.
