No Alerts for IMAP or Hotmail email ??

Synapse Syndrome

When I receive a POP3 email I get the alert appear above the notification
area. But it does not appear for my Hotmail or IMAP accounts. Is there a
way to configure the alert to appear for those accounts too/instead?

I don't believe alerts for those types of accounts are supported.
