I never set my computer up for users since I am the only one to use this
computer. Now it tells me that I do not have administrator rights so I can
not install software, change things through msconfig, or any other changes.
I keep my system clean and well maintained both dailey and weekly so I know
that there are no problems there. I am running Windows XP Home edition. I
have tried and failed to install from safe mode, however even if I could I
would still have the problem of other no administrator rights. Thank you for
any help you can give me.

Carey,
Thank you so much for the links. The first one was for WIndows XP Pro so I
was unable to use it. I did however use the second one which did work. Now I
can log in using my original windows log in screen. Unfortunately the program
will still not let me do installs or use msconfig. Would reinstalling Window
XP Home maybe work? If I reinstall Windows will I loose the information on my
computer?
I hope I am not being too much of a bother but I hate the idea of restoring
to the factory settings. Everytime I have done that on other computers I
always lose something no matter how hard I try to back up.
Thank You Again,
Rvtime
