By any chance were you asking about FoxPro? (I'm guessing!)

I'm being serious here... do you speak any other language besides Englisg? I
can point you to FoxPro newsgroups in Arabic, Chinese, German, Spanish,
Hebrew, and Italian. The only one I know that might be English speaking is
the South African one, but it has no posts on it at the present. :(

If I missed your point entirely, please clarify.

Hello Jim,

| language besides Englisg? (sic)

He is not the only one! ;-O)

In another post, Peter wrote that he has suffered from
a severe stroke. Various posters, including "experts,
have ridiculed him over what appears to be a motor
dysfunction. Apparently, these posters did not read
that particular message.

Hi Jim,

microsoft.public.fox.* includes many English groups, including
microsoft.public.fox.programmer.exchange, which is the general group and has
the most traffic.

Hi Peter,

If you're looking for a FoxPro newsgroup put "Fox" in OE's filter.
Microsoft.public.fox.programmer.exchange, on this same news server, is the
group with the highest traffic.

One of the most common questions is from people who have trouble running
FoxPro 2.6 for Windows on Windows XP machines. The problem is not with WinXP
but with the newer, faster machine it is usually running on. If you are
having this problem, there is a patch at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=240982).

No one holds the copyright on typooos! ;)

I truly hope my post wasn't seen as ridicule. My question about whether he
spoke other languages was prompted by my inability to find an English FoxPro
newsgroup, and the ready availability of non-English ones. (Cindy has now
fold me there are tons.)

Thanks for that additional piece of information, though, Jan.

Now how did I miss those?

I searched the list on http://aumha.org/nntp.htm -- which is pulled from a
direct telnet rip of the newsgroup server -- and didn't find any.

Ah -- I see now -- I searched on the whole "foxpro," not just "fox" -- I'd
found the longer form on the non-English lists -- you're right, of course,
there are plenty of newsgroups!

Thanks :)

Hello Jim,

| I truly hope my post wasn't seen as ridicule.

Not by me.

| Thanks for that additional piece of information...

I posted more details in my reply-post to
Re: microsoft support is an oxymoron.
"Mike Brannigan [MSFT]"

which is the thread immediately above this thread (in my
messageList).

Since Peter started posting, I noticed that two MVPs
have been extremely courteous in their replies to him.
(One of them happens to be in the next separate thread.)
