Don't know if this is a network problem or a Access
problem. Other user can't get into the
database. "Microsoft Jet engine can't access...because
another user has locked..." I think I repaired and
compressed this morning. It happened so quickly there
must not have been too much to do. The other user didn't
come in to work until almost noon. She tried to enter
Access and got blocked. Up to today we had a problem
yesterday apparently when I was printing a report (?)
otherwise no problems with simultaneous use of Access.
Don't understand that one. Today I was in Access at the
time. I exited, no solution. I rebooted, no solution.
She rebooted, no solution. The last time I had yet to
enter Access, so there was no other user!!

The database resides on my hard drive.

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

There is something I don't get here.

Internet connection firewall turned on?
On our router, yes. I even had to reset the router this
morning.

can you see the .mdb file on your
machine from hers?
Yes, through My Network Places I can drill down to it.
If I click on it, it says it can't find the database????

I was actually referring to the firewall built in to XP< but if you can see
the file, it doesn't matter.

If you open the Access application by itself, then browse to the BE on your
machine, can you open it?

Sorry, I don't see where you want me to go.
