I had trouble with software on my old hard drive. I made a complete copy on
a new hard drive. Then I formated my original drive and put a fresh copy of
Windows XP from my recovery section. I thought I could just copy my old
pictures, data and music. When I try to copy them I cannot. I get a message
like "Access is denied you are not autorized to view this data). Somehow I
have lost my administration rights to my old hard drive. The data is there,
right file names and size. I just can't open anything. I did change my
computers name when I put the new stuff on it. I am not totally sure what
the old name was but I might be able to figure it out. Would this be stored
on the old drive. Help!

Check out the "Ownership" issue. See Q308421 from MS. See my reply
to OP below for more details. Good luck! I am still working on this
myself.
