Hi,

Since a few days (don't know since when excactly), I don't have acces to the
registry in Win2K.
The message: "Het bewerken van het register is uitgeschakeld door de
systeembeheerder" (Editing the registry is disabled by the administrator)
appears when I try to open the registry. I am the administrator and I can't
remember that I have disabled this. I've scanned the system for virusses but
found nothing.
Does somebody know how I get acces to the registry again and what can be the
cause of this problem?

Regards, Ricardo

hi Ricardo
my name is Sasan
I encountered the same problem on a win2k and also a winxp machine.as you said,I didn't found any viruses either
I think beside being unable to run regedit, you are not able to run "task manager" either;because it was so for me

to undo changes imposed on your system you can do the following under "administrator"

1.open "run" and type "gpedit.msc" (without qoutations).the mmc of group policy object of the local machine will apear
2.navigate to "user configuration"->"system"
3.find "disable registry editing tools".disable it and again change it to "not configured".this will return the settings to its normal form

another way is to create another administrator user and use it to do your registry-editing jobs
hope it help you
Sasan

Thanks!
Problem Solved.
Any idea what caused this problem?
