Hi folks, please help-
NMIndexStoreSrv.exe has suddenly started to burst into life at random but
frequent intervals. While its running my XP pro based machine becomes
unusable. A response to a click can take 30 seconds or more.
Task manager says that it is running at 99% !!
When it stops, the computer is fine.
I have found that NMIndexStoreSrv.exe is part of Nero, which I use very
occasionally.
How do I repair it, delete it or get it under control?

TIA

This is something plenty of people have experienced and there's plenty of
info out there - try Google and drill down through the forums for focussed
guides. Also make sure you spell it correctly ("NMIndexStoreSrv" or
"NMIndexStoreSvr"). Yes, it is Nero-related. If I remember correctly it's to
do with Nero Scout, and can be stopped as a service and/or through Nero's
interface somewhere.

Go to Control Panel->Administrative tools->Services and scroll down to it.
Double click and set it to Disabled.
