Hi,

This intrepid explorer is ready to try *nix at home (already has it at
work.)

If you assumed I knew *nothing* about *nix and wanted to teach me, what
website would you send me to? Something that will explain it all with
hardly any jargon.

TIA,

Chakolate

I'm not aware of *one* site that explains everything. However, I
have a list of sites that are very helpful. They are mostly Mandrake
sites, but many are vanilla Linux sites. When you say "*nix" do you
mean Linux or Unix? Anyway...here's the list:

BTW...This list is a little old, so you may want to google for things
like the "newbie linux manual," which is downloadable. The "rute"
guide is tremendous and along with the "newbie linux manual" should
get you fairly prepared...if you read them :)

Nice links Tiger, one may also want to suggest doing a google search
for "UNIX MAN" or "UNIX MAN PAGES". Several sites have htmlized the
online Unix Man which makes searching the Man pages a little easier
(not to mention Navigation as well).

<snip huge, wonderful list>

Thanks! That really *ought* to be enough to get me started. ;-)
