Hello,
is there anybody out there having a driver for win98 or higher for the
above mentioned scanner? Nikon doesn't seem to have one. The ones I could
get are commercial for about 100$. The one we got together with the
scanner does not work with win98.

Thanks

According to the Nikon European web site, the last software version that
supported the *Scantouch* AX110 (note the name is slightly different
from what you have asked for, so make sure it is right) is NikonScan
v1.63, which certainly is compatible with Win98 (as well as W95 and NT).

If this is the correct scanner then you can download the software from
the European Support Centre at http://www.europe-nikon.com, although I
think you have to register first.

The German version of the file is at:
ftp://ftp.nikon-euro.com/download/nscan1/ns163de.zip

If you can't get it, let me know and I will send you a copy. They also
have NikonScan V1.43 on the site too, which is the version for Windows
3.1/11, which I guess may be the version you already have.

The scanner is a SCSI interface, so you will also require a driver for
the SCSI card and the 32-bit ASPI layer, which I assume you have.

The information on the Nikon site states that they have had user reports
this software also operates successfully with Windows ME, 2000 and XP,
although they do not guarantee this.

After all of that, the scanner is almost a decade old, which is
positively archaic in computer terms, and you can pick up a flatbed
scanner for less than 50Euro that will outperform it these days.
