I have just purchased Photoshop CS3 and I have placed the Nikon Scan
Plugin 4 into the Import/Export folder of photoshop but when I open
Photoshop it says that this plug in failed to load, everything was
working fine with Photoshop CS. What do I need to do to scan straight
into CS 3 (I am using a Nikon Coolscan 4000)

Thanks for any help

Reload nikon scan and make sure its in CS3.

When I run the Nikon installer it does not put the plugin into the
import/export folder. So I manually dragged the plugin into the import/
export folder but when I launch Photoshop CS 3 it says it didn't load.
Is anyone actually scanning into CS 3 with this plugin?

Do nikon or adobe have some updated software for CS3

There are different ways to bring images into Photoshop from a scanner.
Make sure to install the software necessary for your scanner. Some
scanner software lets you designate Photoshop as the external editor or
viewer for an image after a scanning is completed. Other scanning
software saves the image as a file on your computer that can be opened
in Photoshop.

Note: Scanner drivers are supported by the scanner manufacturer, not
Adobe® Systems Incorporated. If you have problems with scanning, make
sure that you are using the latest version of the scanner driver.
You can also import scanned images directly from any scanner that has a
Photoshop-compatible plug‑in module or that supports the TWAIN
interface. To import the scan using a plug‑in module, choose the scanner
name from the File > Import submenu. See your scanner documentation for
instructions on installing the scanner plug‑in.

If your scanner does not have Photoshop-compatible scanner driver,
import the scan using the TWAIN interface.

If you can’t import the scan using the TWAIN interface, use the scanner
manufacturer’s software to scan your images, and save the images as
TIFF, PICT, or BMP files. Then open the files in Photoshop.

After a bit of digging I have found out that Intel Macs are not
supported by the scan plug in so I guess I'll just have to wait!!
