At work there is a Coolscan ii hooked up to the same
computer that it was on a year ago when it worked fine.

But now NikonScan 3 (or 3.1) throws up a message saying that
the lock-screws are still in place... but they are not!

Anyone?
-- Thanks,tbl

Disconnect the scanner, undo the screws on the lid and take it off. Then
blow some clean air through the film guides and around the head track
etc. Sounds like dirt or dust has got lodged in the lock screw sensor,
which is only an opto-coupler.

Just a short note. This weekend, I had a problem with my Nikon LS-30. A quick search on the web found the article URL here:

www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-1936922.php

The info there solved the problem! I loosened the brass screw, cleaned some lint from the screw drive, and voila!

I just wanted to say thanks!!!
