Nikon 4100 Battery cover

I had my Nikon 4100 for 4 months-- when the battery cover broke- I had bought it after using my cousin's 4100. About 1 month prior -- her battery cover broke-

Now Nikon is saying it's not their problem...............wont' cover the cost of fixing it-

What are the statistical odds of knowing someone with the same camera and the same part breaks within 6 months of use???
