Thank you for the info. I have been using Digital Image
Suite 9 since came out. I am very fond of it's ease of
use & the quality of the results. I was excited to see
the new version 10 recently. What is the status of DI
Suite 10 or possibly 11 handling the Nikon RAW, *.nef
format? I see the issue of the all the different RAW
formats & how it can be a problem. I like Ray use a
Nikon digital camera. I have Photoshop 7 but prefer
Digital Image Suite. I am going to start learning PS but
would be really pleased if Microsoft would incorporate
the major RAW formats from Nikon & Canon, etc. Might
there be a patch coming out for the different RAW formats
or am I going to have to use PS7? I look forward to it.
Thank you very much,
Matt Allen
============================
I'm sorry Matt, but the info in my previous
message is all I have at this time on the
RAW format issue. Version 10 has some
useful new features but is not compatible
with the .RAW format and I'm not aware
of the future availability of a patch.
New Features In MS Digital Image 10.
Several new keyboard short cuts for
often used tools.
Improved Filters...especially the Sepia
filter. In earlier versions it seemed washed
out to me but now it looks great.
A tool that makes Panoramas called
Panoramic Stitching.
Auto color correction.
Auto exposure fix.
Adjustable Noise Filters.
Auto fit on a blank canvas. This makes it
much easier to save a cutout.
A new feature of the Advanced Selection
tools is a Selection Mask, also there is a
new Selection Brush. The combination of
these new features make it much easier
to define a selection.
Tools that have a brush now have sliders
to adjust brush size.
When printing multiples you can choose
to include date stamps. There's also an
assortment of Album Collage Templates.
They combine 7 to 20 assorted size images
on a single page.
You have an option to change Color
Management Settings. These settings let
you select a color profile for viewing or
printing.
Mini Lab has a single image view option.
and also a batch resize option.
At...Tools / Options...you can set your JPEG
quality level so you don't have to do it every
time you save.
There's more but this is all I can think of right now.
