I have a Windows 2000 SP4 server and for the last few weeks it has started
hanging almost every night. There is no crash dump or any sort of event log
notification. the computer does not restart, it just hangs. This computer
is aso and Exchange 2003 SP2 server and the only DC (i know that is not good
we are working on getting a second DC box ;).

Any scheduled program running at the time it hangs, backup etc?

Backups can run at that time, but this happens even when they are not running
and I ran a backup today and it completed w/ out causing the issue. I did
just disable the PowerShoot Personal 1.2 that was on there. I see they are
up to 2.0 now. I just disabled the APC UPS service. We will see what
happens with that. Any other thngs you can think of I should check?

I seem to recall some update being required with some version of APC's
software if that helps.
