Niggling me...

Hey

This two anomalies which have just started occurring to
my PC are really staring to niggle me - can anyone help
with either.

[1] Every time I start-up my PC [I'm running XP]the
System32 folder appears on my desktop displaying all the
System32 files.

[2] Every time I start-up Outlook Express quite a few
[not all, but always the same ones] the sub-folders in my
inbox are open [there are quite a few due to the nature
of my work]and I have to close them all up every time as
it's so messy to work with, even though I always close
them all up before exiting Outlook it is always the same
when I go back in.

Neither of the above problems affect the performance of
my PC, but it's just winding me up as there is no
apparent reason for it, and it means that something is
obviously functioning exactly as it was programmed to do.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Take it easy

Jon

Hi Jon,

[1] D/load and run the fix that is available here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
(Scroll down to line 260, right-hand pane -->System32 Folder Open Upon Boot)

[2] If there are unread messages in the subfolders, go to Tools>Options and
under the General tab, uncheck the checkbox beside "Automatically display
folders with unread messages". Click on Apply then OK.
