Nice product...needs enhanced scanning accuracy

I ran the MS AS Beta 1 on a known infected computer and
it found only 2 infected items. I then installed and ran
Aluria SpyWare Eliminator 4.0 and it picked up and
additional 8 infections that the MS product missed.

Overall I like the MS product for a smooth install, low
overhead and decent operability. they just need tom
improve the quality of the scanning. (not wasy to do I
would imagine.) I wish MS luck with this product and I
hope to see it free in licensed versions of Windows.

Aluria is partnered with the company that makes the WhenU spyware
software - not sure you want to be using that program, it is probably
jerking your chain to get your money.

There are some tough decisions to be made about this category of objects.
Microsoft has said loudly and clearly that they aren't against advertising
supported software.

COAST is no more.

Microsoft has published its own set of guidelines for what will get software
listed for removal by Microsoft Antispyware:

Thanks for the post. SpyWare truly is an interesting new
world. I'pumped about MS entry into this arena. It will
be interesting to see who comes out on top in a year. I'm
quite dissapointed in Symantec's late start and mediocre
product response.
