Apparently ... when you get your new Dell, you don't get ANY CDs at all. Huh!!

No, you go on-line and download an ISO.

Are they that Fecking Insane ... Look, most new users have a hard time finding the on-off switch, and they want you to DL your own CDs.

DELL HELL part 2 ... The Devil from Dell

Please, tell me it's NOT true ...

My boss went against my advise and went for an Ultra portable Dell laptop (for a little over £1500) just because he liked the looks of it

The experience:

1) The configuration required Dell dealer to bundle the DVD Writer. When the laptop arrived it had a combo drive. It took them one month to figure out what went wrong and why a combo drive was bundled instead of a writer. To cut a long story short it took 7 months for the drive to be delivered despite constant reminders to the agent.

2) The laptop actually ruined a Lacie 40 GB mobile drive which was replaced under warranty, the second one would not funtion with the Laptop. Later we found out the laptop's USB port was under powered and due to voltage problem ruined the first drive and had difficulty running the replacement one. I tested it on my laptop and it worked flawlessly.

3) The only thing that worked on the damn laptop from dell was a flash drive which in reality was not large enough for backups.

Recently in a discussion I got carried away and told him his laptop was C.R.A.P, it did not go down very well with him:D

Er is that in english or do i need to decode it:confused:
Scrubbing things with a toothbrush was a way to make you enjoy your first few weeks in the commandos back in the 70's. Much more fun than in the 50's when all you had to do was paint coal white!
