Hi All,

I replaced a failed nic with a new one and all is well in networking.
However at start up I am getting an event 7000 in the log saying the
device driver can't find the device. I looked in add/remove hardware
and device manager and can't find the device driver to uninstall which
obviously should have been done before removing the bad card. The
device driver has multiple entries in the registry so I don't want to
go there. So how do you uninstall device drivers when the hardware is
gone?

Thanks,

When you replaced the the failed NIC, did you replace it with the one that
was the same make/model? Then did you put the NIC back in the same slot the
failed one was in? If you answered yes to the first question and no to the
second, uninstall the nic you put in and then move it to the same slot the
other was in. If you answered no to the first question, get a NIC of the
same type and do the same process. That should take care of your errors,
keyword is "should".
