OK, here's the deal...I have a Win2K Advanced Server with SP4...it's running
Terminal Services so 17 users can log into the server and run a couple of
apps.
Twice over the past 6 months (once today and once in September) the Intel
Pro/1000XT NIC has disabled itself with no user intervention.
To the best of my knowledge, the users aren't doing it. All 17 are pretty
well known and good workers. We really don't belive a person is going to
the device manager and disabling the NIC.
I called Dell (it's a poweredge) and talked to them. Nothing in the
knowledgebase.
I e-mailed Intel and nothing on their end is known about that NIC just
disabling.
I'm hoping someone here might have some thoughts that might help me deal
with this issue. I've updated the driver, etc and am waiting to see if it
happens again over the next few months. In the mean time, I'm fishing for
info that might help me deal with this issue.
Thanks,
Cliff
