I would like to know how to swap out public NIC cards. I
am moving to a GIG backbone and need to replace the 100
MB public cards in my cluster with new 1000 MB cards. I
am not sure that I can just disable the old card and
rename the new cards. Can someone please help me out?

Thanks,
Scott

This should not be an issue to the cluster as long as you are staying with the same IP scheme. In actuality, changing subnets would only affect the IP Resources (obviously) if this is simply a FP Cluster - so changing IPs on a SQL/Exchange Cluster has some effect.

As long as the new Network (and NIC) is seen by the OS and is seperate from the network that the HB is on, you should not have an issue.

For safety sake I would recommend at least some down time for one node (obviously) but since this is not your HB NIC (usually on a cross-over cable) I do not see you having much of an issue following the same procedure as a rolling upgrade

failover groups to one nod
on inactive node, pause the node in cluadmi
on that node, shut it down install and configure the new NI
once complete unpause the nod
then repeat steps for other node
