Hi all

I'm looking to buy a Nforce4/A64 combo in March (probably the Gigabyte NF4
Ultra & 3200+). Yes, there are some NF4 boards around at the moment (no harm
in looking!) but they tend to be out of stock or in very short supply.

Can I sit back and relax in anticipation that Ultra NF4 boards will be
readily available in March or is this situation likely to persist? I mean if
they're going to be in short supply until the 3rd or 4th quarter then I'd
probably start looking at NF3 boards and stick with AGP for a while rather
than go with PCI-E.

TIA

You probably should consult your crystal ball for the best answer. Or,
you could also seek out a fortune teller.

My latest count of nf4 pcie mbs that are in the works is approx 15. I have
self imposed a deadline of Mar.1 to build my personal system. Whatever is
available at that time is what I will choose from. I really need to upgrade
to a high performance vid card and do not want to go the agp route. I would
expect the availability of pcie boards and cards to improve by Mar and
suspect one will have a better forecast in less than 2 weeks. Not much help,
but I share your frustration.

There are two Nforce 4 SLI boards available on Newegg now, the ASUS and
the Gigabyte, one Nforce 4, Gigabyte, and one Nforce 4 Ultra, Chaintech.
Given that you can get those boards today you shouldn't have any trouble
in March.

I do not think Newegg ships to the UK

My only point was that these boards are already in the channel so by
March all of the board makers are going to shipping product. The producers
are from Taiwan so it's not likely that they are going to treat the
American and European markets very differently. If anything I would think
that some of them would want to give priority to the European market
because the dollar is so weak.

Yea, I understand. I now have read that Nvidia 6800 series PCIe cards are
going to be in short supply into the 2nd half. Jeez.

Hmmm so the general consensus is that I should be ok in March - fablas!
