Now that the evenings are drawing in and it is wet and cold are you thinking of next years summer holidays and where you might go? For example my wife Sarah is planing for us to go out to Las Vegas (again)I must admit Vegas is the adult ultimate holiday destination. Forget the gambling there is so much to do there and many National Parks to go and see for example the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Vally of Fire etc, etc. The shows there are fantastic and such a choice or unwind around the hotel swimming pool. So OK where do you dream about where you are going to for next years holiday:lol::lol::lol:????

Good questions! I have no idea :D We tend to book pretty last minute holidays, but we tend to keep in mind the places we'd like to go. I'd like to go to Canada at some point, so that might be on the cards for next year.

I liked Vegas when we went, but more for the surrounding area. I'm not a massive fan of casinos, it all felt a little surreal TBH!

I'm planning on going to Italy next year with a friend, so that'll be good. Not booked anything yet, but aiming for Milan / Florence :)

Sarah and I got married in 2001 in the Little White Chapel we only stayed a week and realised that was more to Vegas than we thought. We have also stayed at a small town called Laughlin on the banks of the Colorado River and explored gold mines in Arizona and traveled down to a place called Lake Havesue City and been on the old London bridge which was rebuilt there including the shrapnel wounds from the blitz.

Many years ago when our daughters were 9 or 10 we took them to California, Arizona and Nevada to do a round trip. We had a couple of nights in Vegas and one of the casinos, Circus Circus, even allowed kids in. Anyway when it came to leave and move on we decided that we would leave Vegas early and get some breakfast on the road. After about 30 minutes we stopped off at a gas station in the middle of nowhere and noticed what looked like a restaurant next door.

I asked at the gas station if it was a good place to get breakfast and when the attendant saw the kids she said, "I wouldn't take the kids in there".

It was, of course, one of the many brothels that are out in the desert surrounding Vegas !!!!

When I was leaving school in 1960 my last trip (and only one) with them was to the Olympic Games in Rome. It was great we drove straight through France into Switzerland and stayed in a small Swiss town for about 4 days went up the mountains in a cable car. When we left we went over the St Gothart Pass to Milan stayed there overnight then to a small town called Chivalry for a few days which was on the coast. Only trouble there I remember was that we had to look for clear sea as the sewage pipe went straight out into the sea, ugh. We then down to Rome via Pizza and stopped and went up the Leaning Tower and the on to Rome. We stayed in the Olympic village just outside Roam built for the games had a wonderful 2 weeks in Rome and the reverse journey back, I think we were gone for a month. When I got back I then had to get ready for Tech College in Ashford.

That sounds great bootneck! Well, not the part about the sewage flowing into the sea, bleurgh. I went to Rome on a school trip when I was 14 and I'd love to go back. We went to Sorrento and the Amalfi coast about 9 years ago, but we haven't been to Italy since.
