when will the next windows come out?
AMD now has developed 64 bit chips called Athlon64 when
will microsoft make another windows to take advantage of
this?

Microsoft is working on a new version of windows now and is expected to be
released around 2005....they are sending out many more beta versions then
they have previously done with other windows. The name they have for it
right now is Longhorn, now whether they change that or not, is not known
yet.

Nobody knows. Latest estimates for the next version, codenamed
Longhorn, are sometime in 2006.

They already have. It's a version of Windows XP for this chip,
and it's in beta test now.

This is actually 2 questions in one.
We will be releasing the version of Windows XP that is targeted for the
AMD64 platform (Athlon64/Opteron) shortly (sorry no public date available
yet, but it is in Beta test and available to developers on MSDN).
This will not be a "new" version of Windows XP - in the same way that the
64-bit version for the Intel Itanium II processor is not a new version (see
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/64bit/ for more information on that
product).

The future version of the Windows client (both 32 and 64 bit) is currently
under development as Microsoft Windows Code Name "Longhorn". We will be
making an extremely early pre beta version available to developers at the
Professional Developers Conference 2003 (see
http://msdn.microsoft.com/events/pdc/ )

We do not have a public date for the availability of Microsoft Windows Code
Name "Longhorn" but it is a few years away at the moment.
